The Corporate Partnership behind the club
The Enfield Scorpions Basketball Club has grown from humble beginnings with just six members and no coaches to a thriving community hub with over 250 young athletes and 13 dedicated coaches. The club's mission is to provide opportunities for young people of all abilities to develop their basketball skills and compete at various levels, from development leagues to national competitions.
In 2024 Enfield Scorpions Basketball Club announced a transformative corporate partnership with The 24hr Solutions Group, marking a new era of growth and success for the club.
Phil Turner, Global CEO of The 24hr Solutions Group, took on the position of Chairman, bringing his extensive leadership experience and visionary approach to the Scorpions.
Phil Turner, who founded The 24hr Solutions Group in 2012, has a proven track record of building successful enterprises. Under his leadership, The Group of 10 companies has become a global leader in engineering and support services, operating in over 39 countries. Turner's commitment to excellence and innovation will be instrumental in guiding the Enfield Scorpions to new levels of achievement.
Hannah Robson, the Managing Director of Enfield Scorpions since 2017, will continue to lead the club with her unwavering dedication and passion. The addition of Phil Turner, John Hamlin, Erin Vanner and other senior staff members of the 24hr Group to the board will provide her with exceptional support, ensuring the club's continued growth and success.
The partnership with The 24hr Solutions Group will bring significant benefits to the Enfield community. The club's outreach programmes, which currently engage around 75 young people from local secondary schools, will be expanded, providing more opportunities for youth to participate in sports and develop essential life skills. Additionally, the club's development academy, which serves approximately 90 young athletes, will receive enhanced support to nurture future basketball talents.
The Enfield Scorpions have a proud history of accomplishments, including winning the U14 and U16 divisions in the Local League in 2022 and the U12 National League conference in the 2023-2024 season. The club has also produced players who have earned scholarships in the United States and represented England and Great Britain in international competitions.
With Phil Turner at the helm, supported by 24hr Solutions Senior Management, John Hamlin, Erin Vanner, Denis Smith, and George Okeke, the Scorpions are poised to build on these successes and aim for even greater heights. The club's model, which allows young athletes to progress through development, London League, and National League levels, ensures that every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
